are some easy no-onion no-garlic recipes if you don't eat onion
and garlic. Many vegetarians do not eat onions and garlic for various
reasons. Buddhists, Jains and Krishna worshippers - such as members of
ISKON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) follow a
garlic- and onion-free diet as these are believed to stimulate the body
and mind, increasing passion and aggression. Hindus eschew onions and
garlic during religious festivals.
You can make up for the many health benefits that onion and garlic
provide in other ways. Made with different types of grains, beans and
legumes, lentils, vegetables and greens, these dishes offer many of the
vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients essential for a healthy diet.
